Play spaces

Research

These are the questions we answer during the Research stage.

Answering them wil help us learn more about the Play spaces consideration, determine if a data standard is required and whether we know enough to move on to the next stage.

  • Do we understand the lifecycle of a Play spaces?

  • Do we understand how the data is created/produced?

  • Where will or should the data be used?

  • Who are the statutory consultees for Play spaces?

  • Other than the statutory consultees who are the primary users of Play spaces? How do we expect them to use Play spaces?

  • What are the planning needs for this data?

LPAs are likely to manage/own many of the play spaces within the borough, and therefore will hold data on play space provision. The presence of these will likely be assessed through an open space study and/or an Infrastructure Delivery Plan, and when planning for growth, new provision will be modelled, and be expected to be delivered through development.

  • Who are the types of users who might benefit from having access to Play spaces data?

  • What are some potential uses of Play spaces data?

  • What's the value of adding Play spaces data to the platform?

  • From what we have learnt so far are there any risks to making Play spaces data available?

Through the research of the available open national dataset, there appear to be no immediate risks to adding this data to the platform.
